Delivered Social Partners with Underbank Chapel to Launch a New Website
Delivered Social has partnered with Underbank Chapel, the Unitarian congregation in Stannington, Sheffield, to launch a new website that will help the chapel share its history, services and community life with a wider audience.
The new site is being built as part of Delivered Social Green, Delivered Social‘s programme supporting charities and community organisations with professional websites. The new site is expected to launch in the coming months.
Underbank Chapel is home to a friendly and growing congregation in the heart of Stannington. It meets for Sunday services and runs community events and activities throughout the year, welcoming people of all backgrounds and beliefs, and the chapel is fully accessible, with wheelchair access and a hearing loop.
The congregation’s roots go back to 1652, and the present Grade II listed chapel, overlooking the Loxley Valley four miles west of Sheffield city centre, opened in 1743. It became Unitarian in 1785 and counts the poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge among its historic visitors. Today it remains an active place of worship, with a pipe organ installed as a memorial after the First World War.
The new website will give Underbank Chapel a home of its own online, making it easier for local people to find service times, learn about events, discover the chapel’s remarkable heritage and get in touch.
The partnership marks the start of a new relationship between the chapel and Delivered Social, which supports more than 700 charities with their websites.
“Underbank Chapel has nearly four centuries of history behind it, and a congregation that’s still growing today,” said Jonathan Bird, Founder of Delivered Social. “We’re delighted to help them tell that story online and make it easier for the people of Stannington and beyond to find them and feel welcome.”
The new website for Underbank Chapel will go live once the build is complete, giving the congregation a modern home online for the next chapter of its story.
