Delivered Social has partnered with Pride of Place Landport, a community project supported by Portsmouth charity HIVE Portsmouth, to build a new website that will give Landport residents a clear place to find out what is happening in their neighbourhood and how to get involved.
The website is being created as part of Delivered Social Green, the agency’s corporate responsibility programme that has now supported more than 700 charities and community organisations with their websites. The new site is being built by the Delivered Social web team and is expected to launch in the coming months.
Landport sits at the heart of Portsmouth, just a short walk from the city centre, and is home to a diverse and close-knit community. Pride of Place Landport focuses on making the area a place residents feel proud of, bringing local people, groups and partners together around improvements to the neighbourhood and its shared spaces.
HIVE Portsmouth describes itself as a small charity making a big difference. Based at Portsmouth Central Library in Guildhall Square, it runs a community helpdesk offering advice and signposting, a free school Uniform Share Store, volunteer recruitment and support, and voluntary sector hubs in the city centre and Paulsgrove. It also supports the wider voluntary, community and social enterprise sector across the city.
The new website will give Pride of Place Landport a simple, accessible home online, where residents can find news, events and opportunities, share their views and see how their community is changing. It will also make it easier for partners and volunteers to connect with the project.
Delivered Social already has strong links with Portsmouth’s community sector, having worked alongside HIVE Portsmouth and other local organisations on projects such as the city’s UK City of Culture bid.
“Landport is a neighbourhood with real heart, and Pride of Place is all about giving local people a stronger voice in its future,” said Terence Carvalho, Chief Operating Officer of Delivered Social. “As a Portsmouth team, we’re proud to be building a website that puts the community front and centre and makes it easy for everyone to get involved. Projects like this are exactly what Delivered Social Green is all about.”
The new Pride of Place Landport website is set to launch later this year, giving the Landport community a digital front door to match its ambitions.
