Award-winning Italian singer-songwriter returns to the essentials of piano, voice and songwriting as she prepares for London performances.
Italian singer-songwriter Alessia D’Andrea is preparing to introduce British audiences to her album The Journey, with a series of London performances planned for 25–29 March 2027.
A former collaborator with Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull, D’Andrea has enjoyed an international career spanning rock, soul, pop and electronic music. Now The Journey finds her embracing a more intimate, stripped-back sound built around piano and voice.
Ian Anderson has praised the album:
“Filled with emotion and the ability to deliver to the listener, Alessia takes big steps forward on this album of sensitive and uplifting material. Impeccable phrasing and intonation anchor the heartfelt lyrics and full blooded arrangements.” – Ian Anderson, Jethro Tull
Originally from Calabria, D’Andrea won both the Premio Mia Martini and Musicultura awards before recording Locomotive Breath with Anderson in 2004. She subsequently joined Jethro Tull onstage at the Pistoia Blues Festival in 2008.
Her recordings have reached more than 15 countries, including releases through Britain’s Ministry of Sound label.
Her UK visit will also highlight StrongHer, a documentary directed by Massimo Ivan Falsetta exploring the experiences of women in music, with contributions from Ian Anderson, former Michael Jackson guitarist Jennifer Batten, Bob Dylan collaborator Scarlet Rivera and music journalist Lucy O’Brien.
Plans are being developed for a London screening of the film, accompanied by a short performance, alongside headline concerts and potential guest appearances.
London performances: 25–29 March 2027. Venues and tickets to be announced.
