Delivered Social has partnered with The Archway Foundation, the Oxfordshire charity that has been tackling loneliness and isolation since 1982, to build a brand-new website for the charity.

The new site is being created as part of Delivered Social Green, Delivered Social‘s programme supporting charities with their websites, and is set to launch in the coming months. It will give the charity a modern, easy-to-manage home online, designed around the people it exists to support.

The Archway Foundation helps adults across Oxfordshire who identify as lonely or isolated. Chronic loneliness is estimated to affect the wellbeing of around 50,000 people in the county, and the charity supports around 180 people every year to build meaningful connections. People can refer themselves, or be referred by a GP, social worker, another organisation, friends or family.

Based at St Clements Centre in Oxford, Archway is run by a small staff team, a committed board and more than 80 trained, DBS-checked volunteers. Its services include Telephone Support, where a volunteer calls once every two weeks; Face-to-Face Support, from a coffee or a walk to home visits; and monthly Social Groups in Oxford, Banbury and Abingdon. The charity also campaigns to raise awareness of why human connection matters, through events, newsletters, blogs and podcasts.

The new website will make it simpler for people to find out about Archway‘s services, refer themselves or someone they care about, and get involved as a volunteer or supporter.

The Archway Foundation joins more than 700 charities supported through Delivered Social Green.

“Loneliness is something so many people carry quietly, and the work The Archway Foundation does to reach them, one conversation at a time, is genuinely special. We’re proud to be building a website that makes it easier for people to find that support, and for volunteers to find their way to Archway too,” said Jonathan Bird, Founder of Delivered Social.

Further details will be shared when the new Archway website goes live.
