Our Editorial Guidelines at BUSINESS PRESSED
✔️ What We Publish
We welcome professionally written news stories and press releases aimed at both business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) audiences.
We’re especially keen on content that covers:
-
Business innovation, product launches, and key appointments.
-
Local business events and retail developments.
-
Lifestyle and consumer-focused updates with a business angle.
-
Reviews, expert commentary, and regional business insights.
-
Charity campaigns, donations, or not-for-profit initiatives – after all, you’ve got news to share too.
- Individual job appointments or promotions.
All submissions should be well-researched, factual, and relevant to the topics and regions we cover (the United Kingdom).
❌ What We Don’t Usually Publish
Some topics fall outside our editorial scope. We generally do not accept submissions related to:
-
Community groups, housing associations, or care home inspections.
-
Hospitals, schools, or education-related news.
- Content promoting or linked to smoking, vaping, or gambling.
-
List-style articles (e.g. “Top 10 Tips”, “5 Ways To…”, etc.)
-
Advertorial-style content or overt promotions (unless pre-agreed).
-
Submissions that lack clear editorial value or substance.
It’s all about the photos…
We have strict image standards. Please avoid submitting:
-
Portrait-style photos, including headshots or head-and-shoulders images (unless agreed in advance with our editorial team).
-
Selfies or low-quality, amateur photography.
-
Logos, infographics, or any form of graphic design.
-
Standalone promotional images.
- Remember, when submitting a story, you accept and confirm you are responsible for the images and agree to pay Business Pressed for any claims that are submitted against us if you are not the original copyright holder.
If your submitted images don’t meet our requirements, we may reject the story or replace them with suitable stock photography from our own library.
📝 Will My News Be Published?
We publish over 90% of news stories submitted via our website.
However, we may decline stories if they don’t meet our editorial standards or if we’ve received a high volume of similar content. In such cases, we may not provide individual feedback or explanations.
